JCB 3cx info
One of the most versatile types of diggers around at the moment is the JCB 3cx. This is commonly known as a backhoe loader and as such can be used for many jobs requiring digger work. The JCB 3cx is a relatively small sized digger compared to some of the others on the market, resulting in its ability to be used for the smaller construction sites, individual house builds or urban engineering.
Being a backhoe loader machine means it has greater productivity than a lot of the other varieties of diggers on the market.
Among many other features the JCB 3cx prides itself on:-
- Smooth controls to ensure easier operation
- Easier operation results in higher productivity from the driver
- JCB design and build for the cab provides greater comfort for the operator
- Increased noise resistance in the operating cab
- JCB design and build for the cab also provides unbeatable visibility for the operator
- JCB design and build Powertrain gives maximum reliability whilst being used off highway
- JCB design and build using TorqueLock provides faster journey times with up to 25% saving on fuel
- JCB design and build Powerslide can side shift the boom to negate the need to manually move the backhoe during repositioning of the machine
- 130 litre fuel tank
- Easily accessible hydraulic tanks and filter
- A long ranging reach
- Powerful shovel breakout forces
- Swivel seat to allow operator to use controls for the front bucket and then swivel round 180 degrees to use the operating controls for the backhoe
In layman terms the JCB 3cx backhoe loader machine started life as a heavy duty tractor fitted with a front shovel type bucket and a backhoe on the rear.
The backhoe machine was invented in the United Kingdom in 1953 by Joseph Cyril Bamford (the founder of JCB). Most modern backhoe machines have the backhoe permanently attached so they can be used with the front bucket or the backhoe. This is what makes it a very versatile machine.
To increase versatility the backhoe loader can often have other attachments fitted to the front of the machine instead of the standard front bucket for example a snow plough attachment can be easily fitted to allow snow clearance in bad weather. Lifting cables can also be attached to allow concrete pipes for example to be moved from one area of a site to another.
Due to the popular demand for JCB 3cx machines they are now quite readily available to be purchased second hand which means such a saving for a single businessman who may be doesn’t have the funds to buy a brand new machine.
Before purchasing any type of construction machinery it is a good idea to invest a bit of time in researching what type of machine would be the best purchase for the type of work required. A good and trusted form of research is to use the internet.
Just bear in mind that for versatility and reliability the JCB 3xc may well be the best machine for the money.
