Thieves steal catering equipment

Friday, February 5th, 2010

The headlines read ‘Thieves steal catering equipment worth £24,000’. I read this story with fright and horror as I am starting up my very own restaurant business, which will actually be opening next week, just in time to coincide with Valentine’s Day. As I continued reading this article it became apparent to me that they were actually referring to a well known restaurant in a neighbouring town, close to where I live. I really feel for these people as I now know just how expensive it is to buy catering equipment.

Crack Open The Bubbly

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009

Champagne is called champagne because it is produced from the Champagne area of France. It is sensational, delicious with lots of bubbles and fizz .   It’s a special drink that everyone loves and is enjoyed on many special occasions like weddings, birthdays and anniversaries.  I think these type of celebrations appear incomplete without the presence of raising a glass of bubbly or two to toast the occasion.

It’s all in the sauce

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Worcester sauce is the key ingredient of many home made meals today.  Up until now the precise contents of this tangy sauce has always remained a mystery.  That is until now.  After more than 170 years, the original recipe for Lea and Perrins Worcestershire sauce has been revealed because notes dating back from the mid 1800’s have been found dumped in a skip by the sauce factory.  They were found by a former employee of Lea and Perrins and the notes were all neatly written in sepia ink and filed in two leather bound folios.

The Royle Family

Thursday, November 12th, 2009

Does your imagination ever run wild with you and have some very strange thoughts? Well my imagination runs really wild and I was just wondering if the Queen has got all the mod cons installed in Buckingham Palace like a satellite TV and sky plus, so when she is away on her duties she can record her favourite soap and never miss an episode of Coronation Street? Does the Queen have underfloor heating in her Kitchen, so when she is making Philips porridge for breakfast in the morning her feet are not getting cold? Mad I know but I just can’t help thinking about how the Royals really live?

This is a preview of The Royle Family. Read the full post (352 words, estimated 1:24 mins reading time)
